Apple Raceberry JaM

Computer Services for Cross Country Meets

Apple Raceberry JaM is a complete results service. We enter rosters and teams in our computers, score the race with our equipment, and post your results on the Internet afterwards.

We also supply services for road races and triathlons and track meets

Current Rates: Conventional Timing

Your total cost is the sum of charges for registration and results processing.

Registration

Includes setting up a simple online entry system; data entry of name, year in school, and team; labels (with bar codes for ID tags); lists that can be used for a meet program or at least for the coaches.

Results Processing

Includes complete results (team scores and times and places for individuals in order of finish overall). Also includes use of our timers.

Chip Timing

Apple Raceberry JaM now offers chip timing services. We use the IPICO Sports Tag, the timing device used at the Bolder Boulder mega race. We don't own 47,000 tags, but we can probably handle your meet.

Advantages of chip timing include speed, accurate times, and a much simpler chute system; you don't have to try to collect bar codes from the runners in the same order as they cross the finish line. The hardware is relatively expensive, and so entails higher charges. Race numbers are usually unnecessary (unless you want them for backup or for a photographer), so you can save some money there.

IPICO chip

Registration

Includes setting up a simple online entry system; data entry of name, year in school, and team; lists that can be used for a meet program or at least for the coaches. Also, putting the chips in plastic bags (miniature Ziplocs), putting labels on the bags, and putting each team's chips in a plastic box. You simply give out the boxes. The coaches will return the chips in the same boxes (and be billed $10 for each missing chip).

Results Processing

Includes complete results (team scores and times and places for individuals in order of finish overall).

Fee

$1.50 per entrant covers all the charges listed above for conventional timing, including a finish line clock, except for travel expenses. If you want two chips for each runner (probably unnecessary for invitational meets), add $1 per entrant. Splits cost $500 per split. Minimum charge is $600 plus travel.

Results Display

Apple Raceberry JaM owns a MicroGraph display, which we have programmed to show (both during and after the meet) team scores and the times of the top finishers. We will bring it to your meet for an extra $75.

Results Production

After the race, Apple Raceberry JaM will print one copy of your results in a form suitable for handing out to coaches. For "small" meets (up to 20 teams), we will print out one copy for each coach. They will be put on the Internet the evening of the race (for sample results, see our home page).
